Response:  i think this a a really cool show. it is pretty exciting and you really do learn a lot about the wild. i would definately agree with ryan that you need teamwork in order to survive at all. you can’t do this by yourself obviously. you need to work as a team in order to get food, build shelters, gather firewood. this also leads to trust like ryan also said. you really need to trust that the people around you are going to do their job and you also need to do your job in order to provide for them as well. they need to trust you and you need to trust them. i would also like to add to his post the fact that we are completely reliing on god on all those situations. we also can realize that Gods creation is so much bigger than we are. the biggest guy was a police officer and he had to go home because he said he couldn’t make it. so this also takes a lot of perseverance. they totally rely on what God has given them out there and his creation. i also really like the comment he made about how awesome and awe inspiring Gods creation is. the land out there is so amazing and beautiful. it is amazing what he has done.

subject: i am going to do this blog on the unit.  I really like this show becuase it keeps me into it and it is action packed with a lot of excitement. i also like this kind of show a lot. The unit is a group of guys that goes out  into enemy territory and carries out very dangerous misions. the unit is very secretive. nobody can know what they are doing or where they are going, not even there wives. they all have fake passports and things to keep them very undercover.

content:  i think that this show is got several little t truths in it. the first that i would say is teamwork within the unit. this is very important because if they don’t work as a team they could all be killed and it is very dangerous. i think that another little t truth could be trust. htis has to happen between the guys in the unit and there boss that sends them out into combat and enemy territory. they have to trust him or else they might not make it out oalive. the wives also have to trust each other because they are in danger as well so if theyt don’t work together and trust each other they could be in a lot of trouble and danger as well. i think that family values should be very important that we as Christians can find in this show. family is one of the only things that is holding these guys together. a while back one of the guys wives was having an affair with there boss and that really upset the guy in the unit but he can’t kill the boss man or else they won’t be making it out alive because they don’t know who is going to be running there unit next. the trust hting is huge in this show. an example is when they had a new guy try to tell them what to do the unit dind’t listen to him because he was telling them crazy things. but when there boss told them to do the exact same thing, the guys said ok and went in and did the job.

these values are all big T truths as well and are very important to us as Chirtians. if we are going to be like Christ then these things are all very important. the biggest thing i can think of is freindship because it leads to all of these other things. i think this show can really tell us as Christans that we need to really live out ourt Christain lives with wisely chosen freinds. the unit added a new member, they new he was the right guy but they still had to put him through another test where he was interegated but he didn’t give out info about the unit and so then they new he was the right guy.

Response: I think that this is a really good movie. it is really funny and i laugh at it everytime. i thknk Brandon did a good job explaining the movie and picking out the little t truths. the really good one that he mentioned is obviously friendship and how important they are. i think another one that we can say is don’t jugde somebody untill you get to know him. i know that Tommy is pretty stupid sometimes but he is a really good guy. richard doesn’t think to good of him in the beginning but that was before he got to know him. also i htink another one the he kind of touched on is teamwork and that is important. I htink of it as very important because i play football and you can’t win games if you don’t have teamwork. this is promoted in this movie because Tommy and Richard have to work together in order to keep the business a float and they do just that and then some. i would definately agree with Brandon that frienship is a Big T truth as well as a little t truth because it si something everyone can see and also a Christian can live thier life through strong friendships and i htink that is what this movie can beign tell us Christians. i also think family values are important here to because Tommy and his dad are really close and then when his did dies, Tommy will do anyhting to help his dads business out.

subject:    I am going to do the movie Hancock. This movie is about a guy who has super powers and is helping people in the beginning of the movie but he is very destuctive in the way that he does his thing. The first scene really enphasizes this by showing him waking up with a bottle of whiskey. He doesn’t really care what people think about him and he flies off to catch these bad guys and ends up doing a lot of damage to the city and nobody really likes it. A man named Ray gets helped by him ounce and kind of takes him in and under his wing and sees how he can bring out the good side of Hancock. So he does just htat and turns him into a sort of super hero that everyone likes. He realizes what Ray has done for him and so in the end he does a little something for Ray.

Content: I think that this whole story is sort of a little t truth. If you look at this movie from a standpoint other than a Christians, than this is just going to be another good movie. But when i saw it i saw it as a good movie but i also saw several Christian values.  I definately think that the first Hancock that is really destructive could be the one without Christ in his life, and the Hancock afterwards is the one with Christ in his life. I can see Ray as the man that finds him and sort of knows the good that is inside him that can change the lives of many people and i think that we as Christains kind of need to do this as well. He took a man that nobody really liked and turned him into someone that can change the world for so many people. I thought to myself as i watched this movie a couple of times, what if there was a person that could do this with Chistianity. What if this guy could help people in the name if the one and only God.

Evaluate:  I have already touched a little bit on some of the Big T truths with how we should live out our Christian lives. We need to try and look for people that have a great gift if only they could use it for good, and try to evangalize to them. That is what Ray did to Hancock and i think it would be so cool if we did that with Christianity. Anohter big T truth that i saw was when Hancock put the all heart symbol on the moon. He realized what Ray did for him and he thanked him in a big way wich i think is very important. giving back to the person that taught you about the true way of life.

Response: I really like this song a lot. We listen to this song a lot during football so we are familiar with it. It has a very good beat to it and it gets us pumped up and excited. this is the song the virginia techs football team comes onto the feild with. its an exciting song and has a heart pounding beat to it. i kinda of think of this song for football as if we are the sandman. we are the monster that is going to get you in your sleep. we will beat you. the song can also be intimidating to others as if the sandman is going to come and get you. I think that this is a really good song and it can also has a Christian meaning to it as well. kurt did a good job of explaining this song i thinhk that we can also look at this as is entering hell when it says enter night. as christina we believe in forgiveness but it can sometimes help change your mind about something if you know its wrong and you think of the sandman coming to get you because you misbehaved or something. now obviously thats not necissarily true but it can certainly make you think about some of the things you are dong and choices you are making.

Nobody’s listening

March 19th, 2009 by zachrazenberg

subject: This song talks about a guy that has an opinion and nobody is really listening. The title of the song is nobody’s listening and that reflects a lot about what he is talking about. The last part of the song says that nobody really cares what you say unless you start hurting thier feelings.

Context: The chorus just emphasizes the title of the song that nobody is listening to him. the second verse is just talking about how he had all this stress and things that he was dealing with. I think that the third verse is about his life struggle. this is coming from a guy that probably has a grudge or something and is mad about it. I think this because he is saying how he has told you loud and clear but nobody is lisening and then later in the song how he says that he has a heart full of pain and a head full of stress. He also makes this song kind of personal to make you think a little bit about what he really is talking about. he says the trash talking and the people it was too, the people that started it just like you. it kind of makes you think about whether or not you are spreading the dirt and trash talking, or in we could insert anyhting such as gossiping or something. the last few words of this song say “Coming at you from every side” I think this is very true because pain and stress and gossipping is all around us all the time no matter where you are. It happens at school, at home, in sports, in everything.

Evaluate: i think that you can find some christain values in this song. i think it  amkes us have to step out of our fishbowl in order to see what is really going on. this song points out a lot of things that are true such as all the gossipping and spreading the dirt that comes at you from every side. ithink that as a Christian we shouldn’t get caught up in all of that stuff and set a good example on how to live your life for Christ. I think that this song makes us think about what jesus di as well. he didn’t hurt feelings to get his oint across, he went at you with a kind word and i htink we should also do the same thing.
