Casey, I really like how you put into perspective the NCIS show. This show is also one of my favorites. I completely agree with you on how they are daily risking there lives for catch others who are dangerous. And how we need to live our lives to the fulliest as well. I think alot of people say this live life to the fullest its a well known term and i think as much as people say no one really lives it out as much as they should. Particially because we are sinful people and also are very selfish. We as christians i think should live our lives to the fullest for other people. We should srtive to help them instead of living for ourselves.  Being a servant is what Christ calls us to be not only to our parents or those in authority, but also those around us saying thank you or picking something up when someone drops someting even it you dont know them. i think Christ has us not only be servant as just a nice at but to help people. Doing something nice to one person like a simple thankyou or have a nice day or even opening the door up for them can really brighten a persons day! i think our problem is we are too much in a hurry we have so many things to do we dont have time to help others when really we may be standing in the same line haveing to what in line the same amount of time a little small talk never hurt anyone. And smiling, smilling always makes me feel better. if im in a mad mood and someone looks with a great big smile i cant help but grin because it reminds i dont have that bad, im alive and have great friends and family. And maybe by smiling at someone you can brighten up their day. Especially right now those snowplowers who up endless hours of the day or night. Wave, say thank you might make their tiredness go away for a short while knowing that people appreciate their job.

the latest Grey’s Anatomy:

Last thursday on Greys Anatomy multiple ocassions happened. First Meredith and Christina are stilling fighting, but Merediths old friend, Saide,  who is now and intern explains how they once had a fight and Meredith couldn’t get over it and apologies so they aren’t nearly the friends they once were. Saide warns Meredith of doing the same thing to Christina. Izzy then explains to Alex that she can see Denny, and talks to him and does things with him, like he were alive. Alex shows compassion, and lets Izzy know that hes here for her know matter what she’s going through. Callie and Sloan are trying to stay away from the interns, for fear of falling in love with them.

One little t truth in this episode is the need for a friend. Alex shows Izzy beyound support and comfort. He doesn’t know all whats happening to her, but he’s still there avaible for her anytime she needs him. He tells her he loves her, lets her know how much he cares. This shows how we also should be nice and comfort those around us. We never know what people are going through, and maybe saying a kind word will help those around us who are struggleing without knowing it. This teaches that you dont have to know whats wrong to comfort a person, just letting them know you are there means the most. Izzy tried to explain, but Alex didn’t have to know and he knew what that she was hurting and all he needed to do was care.

One big T truth in this is forgiveness. Christina and Meredith are fighting for the last few episodes. They aren’t talking and if they do they argue. No one can forgive the other. Then Saide comes along and explains the Meredith how they had once a fight also, they tore them apart and now aren’t the same. She tells Meredith how Christina is a lot more fragile then she was, and that Meredith needs to make it okay with Christina. This is like our realationship with God. We fight and say we can do it all ourselves. We dont need you. Then we faller deeper and deeper into the pit until someone says or you yourself realize you cant do this on your own. We need God in our lives. He keeps us together and keeps us close with one another. Saide is like Christ our mediator, communicating with us telling us all what He has done for us and we are to be one with Him.

Liz, I too enjoy this movie very much. But it makes me cry everytime its so cute and so sad and happy. I really like your point on how much the Reverend, Jamie’s Father, and Jamie care for each other. Jamie’s father restricts her from alot of things like dating. And when Landon comes around he especially says no because he knows who Landen his. But, what Jamie’s father doesn’t know is that all the restriction he set on her and the reminder, daily, of God and his law paid off, because she has brought someone out of their wicked ways. Jamie teaches Landon respect, for her and for women in general, she also teaches him he can do anything and that he has so much more to offer than the orginal things he was doing. Jamie shows Landen himself and what he can accomplish besides abusing society with his pranks. And this is why Landen falls in love with her. He know who he can truely be and Landen never lets Jamie go he loves her through the strong stages of her lukemia and through the weak stages and does anything to help. Just as Jamie didn’t let him go before she was done teahing him he never let her go even after she was gone. I think this shows a very positive relationship. Dependance on each and wanting to be better for that other person. Jamie was so scared of the cancer and of being with Landon. Instead of letting that be a turn off Landon went past that and did anything he could to take that fear away. This also teaches us not to judge, and that people can change, so you have to be patient and kind and not worry about what other people think cause they might just surprise you.

Subject:

This movie is about a the coast guard. Ashton Kutcher plays the main character Jake Fisher. Kevin Costner also a main character plays the part of the head coast guard rescuer named Ben Randell. The movie starts out with Ben going out to save these fishermen, when the helicopter runs into the boat, which leads to the death of all the boat members and coast guard members except for Ben. Now, because of this tramatic event, Ben’s boss makes him teach a coast guard class before he goes back out to rescue the stranded hopeless people. In this teaching, he meets Jake Fisher who is a studen in the class. Jake Fisher went to state for swimming the first to years of high school before loosing all of his teammates in a drunken car accident. Jake and Ben dont get along until Jake realizes Ben’s story and Ben realizes Jake’s story, an explanation of what they do and why they are both involved in the things that they are. Jake becomes the best swimmer of the class and the best potential coast guard personal of the class. When the times comes after graduation of the program, Jake and Ben past enemies, now friends, become partners. On the first mission, the flashbacks come back to Ben of all of his team members dying the last time he went out to save. Jake gives encouragement and they get all the two kiakers stuck in a storm into the helicoper. But unfortunately as the drivers of the helicopter go to lift Jake and Ben up the cord begins to break. Ben is the closer one to the water, and he knows that that the cord wont last, so he cuts the cord allowing Jake to live and the kiakers be brought to safety.

Content:

During the middle of the movie Jake learns some information about Ben, from the bar tender. Jake learns that one reason that Ben is the best because he gave anything to save those people in the water. One time Ben ripped every tendon in his arm because he held onto a man for 20 minutes to the helicopter base because the cord jammed up and couldn’t move. Right there Jake has automatic respect for Ben. This is a life leason doing anything even for the people you dont. Giving your word like i wont let you go and fulfilling gives people complete trust in you when you follow through. This movie teaches not only to sacrifice your self for others but also to keep your word and when you say your going to do something you do actually do it.

Evaluation:

I love this movie it has to be one of my all time favorites. In the beginning of the movie the first line that is said is this ” There is legend of the man who lives beneath the sea, he is a fisher of men the last hope of all those who have been left behind.” This line is not just a line in a movie, no this line is a line of our creator, the one came lived and died for our sins. Yes, Jesus Christ He is the fisher of men. He searches to find souls, and is our only hope of anything to come or that has been. He is our last hope, God gave us a chance and we blow right out the window. The only difference we have not been left behind God is right there giving us hope tellings we can do it, not on our own but with His grace and power. He forgives us daily, as we screw up time and time again. At the end of the movie Ben does the ultimate act, he dies and takes his own life for the good of the whole just like Christ did for us. He died because he know the that chord that was broken in the garden could never be mended. He knew that would just keep breaking more and more. So he took the aniciative and hangs unto us, and fights off satan for us with his life.

Katie I completely agree with you when in your second paragraph you are talking about hiding your sins and how its not a tragedy, she knew what she was doing. I really like this we have to think of our sins and other people sins they have commited against us sins plain sins that eveyone makes and shouldn’t make a huge about it cause its not like the world is coming to an end and its not a tragedy its merely that we are sinful human beings. I also think this thought you have has a lot to do with the parable Jesus tells about seeing a speck in someone elses eye but not realizing the log in your own. As christians i think we have a really hard time with that, we are so quick to judge and never see that we do the same exaclt thing. When people hurt us we complain and see their sin against us never realizing that we do the same thing to that same person or to other people as well. We do not even like to admit our sins or say that we do them. We know what we do and we know that we are sinning but we still continue to do them. We also do sins, do not admit it and try and hide them at the same time. Its weird we know what we are doing and still do them and then try and hid them and pretend we really didn’t do anything wrong.

100 in a 55 by Pop Evil:

Turn back on the broken heartache
Some things are just meant to be
I still believe that we got a chance
Still believe that we got a chance to be
Too much is never enough and
Too little is never enough
Full speed got me looking out my rear view
I can’t go back

Chorus:
Goin’ 100 in a 55 and I don’t know why I’m still alive but I
Do what I can but I know I can’t take anymore
I still believe in this rock and roll
And I pray the music gonna save my soul
But till then I still believe some things are just meant to be

It’s messed up but I got this mission
Drunk again wont remember anyway
She said it’s just a game boy
Don’t be gone don’t be gone for long
Ten years I’ve been doing this forever
Its all I know baby please don’t turn away
I know you don’t believe in me
But I do believe in you

Chorus

Interlude:
I’m still falling
Away from here
Away from here
I’m still falling
The wings are falling off
I can’t go back
I’m in too deep

Chorus x 2

I still believe
Some things are just meant to be

This song is about a guy in a situation where he feels like he is going faster than he should be and doesn’t know how to get out of it. Flying around trying to make things right meanwhile not knowing how to make things right. While the people he loves are getting more hurt and falling further and further away from him. But still believing in the things, and hoping they make everything right again. He is flying around trying to be something and at the same time realizing that he cant and its not who he wants to be.

One little “t” truths in this song is stated the fist line of the chorus im going 100 in a 55 and I dont know why im still alive. Our world is so revolved around speed. We have fast food resturants, drive through pharmacy’s and music, phone and interent all one once devise; we are as compact as possible. Our world also tells us to be perfect and be a rockstar to have fun and be busy and have no worries. When in reality having the maddo “no worries” really makes you worry all the more. Another little “t” truth in this song is in the line where it says I do what I can but I can take anymore, its a bit suicidal. In this world there is so much poverty and sickness all around us, and we still only worry about the drama that happened in our day. It is really sad, and now the wall street crisis people have so much to deal with. It’s never ending, like the end of the song Im still falling, wings are falling off, I cant go back Im in too deep.

A big “T” truth is once again the start of the chorus going a 100 in a 55 is how we fly around and “dont have time for God.” We are so busy with are lives an do not think we have time for Him unless their is a problem and we call on Him then for help. Also where it says I know you dont believe in me but I do believe in you. Thats what God says to us. He says im here for you even though you do not always know it, I am here with a helping hand. And the line that says Its messed up but I got this mission, drunk again wont remember anyway, she said its just a game boy, dont be gone dont be gone for long, goes right along with it. We say that too, we have messed up and our mission is to serve God in all we do, but we screw up and Gods grace saves us from that sinful game we play. Going a 100 all the time keeps us from thinking we need God so we leave Him behind, we make God play another aspect of our lives, instead of the leader of our lives, like Joey Dekoekoek said in Chapel today. Then God says come back dont be gone for long, your going to fast, your gonna crash and when we do crash He’s the only one their fixing our bumps and bruises.
