I think that Zack did a good job showing some of this shows message and what it means to try to make someone happy. But when I read Zack’s blog about this episode I saw almost something like Christ in the common. Squid ward believes that his actions were wrong and he does something for Sponge bob that will make him happy. The reason he does this is because the human body is made to not like it when someone is happy. But, the Christ figure in the episode I believe is Sponge bob. He was doing something good for all of the people of Bikini Bottom and then someone had to come in and ruin it. Even though Squid ward rubbed it in Sponge Bob’s face that he was right in the end Sponge Bob still forgave him. I think that when someone does something like this to us we tend to hold grudges regardless of who we are, its human nature. We need to learn from Sponge bob and realize that most things are worth forgiving in order to get a friend back. In reality we need to forgive every one’s actions regardless if they apologized or not because that is what God did for us.

This episode of CSI: LA is about a census taker that got kill and was found in a high speed chase in the trunk of a car. The reason he was killed was because he went to take roll of this house which people were making meth in. One of them answered the door and then they realized that they shouldn’t have open. They tied him up while they figured out what do with him. The boss of this operation put rat poison in a gag and made him eat it. The census taker died with in 30 min. The CSI then went through all the normal things they do and eventually find out who it is by getting a finger print of the gag. But while they were doing this they had to go to two meth houses which were both rigged to explode with pipe bombs. This made them very angry and want to find the killer even more.
Content:
There are many things you could take out of this episode that are very cliche. One of the points that you have to actually think about to achieve is: If someone does something that is unnecessary you want to win or get what you want even more. Never give up on something that you think is impossible. This thesis is true because before the explosions in the meth houses the CSI were just treating this as another case. Then the explosions happened and this made the hole team to get upset. They went into a overdrive mode and found the people that did this to them. The part of the thesis that says never give up on something that you think is impossible is shown because the finger print on the gag they thought they wouldn’t be able to get the finger print off of it but they kept trying and got a print off of it to prove who killed the census taker. Both of these thesis’ are shows as values and beliefs of society. One example in society of this thesis is in sports. They both apply because if you give up because you think it impossible to win you wont even be close to the opponent. Then if they push it to another level and do unnecessary stuff then that makes you want to win even more.
Evaluation:
The Christ in the common figure in this episode is the whole CSI team. They show Christ like values when they don’t give up and they keep fighting for what they know they have to do. Jesus did this when he was put on the cross. He knew it was going to happen and that it was wrong but he kept going with it because he knew it was right. Also in this episode the team puts their life on the line for each other showing friendship. in the first explosion two people get trapped in the fire or explosion and the leader of CSI comes into the fire and rescues both of them. This also shows Christ in the common because he put his life on the life for his friends and “followers”.
Response to Gilberts post “transformers”
November 23rd, 2009 by kylesmithI agree with Gilbert that the movie transformers shows the bravery of the main character Sam. This is shown through many of the things he does. He risk his life multiple times to make sure that some one or some thing else stays alive. Also he doesn’t even know if the matrix will for sure bring Optimous prime back to “life” so that he can defeat the deceptions The end of the movie end with everyone being happy. Optimous prime is alive and he has defeated everyone he needs too. Gilbert listed many of the examples the bravery. But he didn’t list another attribute this movie contains which is a Christ figure in Optimous prime. He is a Christ figure because through out the movie he is rescuing people by very miraculous acts. He also saves Sam many times. But eventually he has to die. If he didn’t die i dont think that Sam would have tried as hard to get to the matrix and find it. Optimous Prime comes back to life and he saves the world this is what Christ will do when we returns to us for the second coming. The only difference is that Jesus did not need help of a human to come back to life.
Paranormal Activity
November 9th, 2009 by kylesmithSubject:
This movie is about activities that go on in Katie’s life. These activities have been going on since she was 8 when her house burned down and she every since then she has been able to see shadows and other things have been happening to her. When the movie takes place Katie is living with her boyfriend of many years, Mika. He can also sees these happenings but knows that they are happening because of her. He starts to see this as a joke and wants to investigate it more. They call in popele to help them but nothing really helps. The movie keeps going and as it does more things happen to katie and mika. The things that are happening keep getting worse and worse. One night Katie gets up at about 3 a.m. and and walks over to the side of the bed that Mika sleeps on and stares at him for about 3 hours with out moving. She doesnt know that this happening. She is possessed by the demon that has been haunting her. AFter hours of staring at Mika, she slowly goes back and starts to walk down stairs, the camera doesn’t follow her and all you hear is a scream. Mika is startled, gets up and once down stairs. It stays silents. Then all of a sudden you hear a yell and a scream and Mika is thrown at the camera. He dies, and Katie apparently is never found.
Content
This movie contains some graphic and disturbing things. But they are need to get the point across that people really are followed and haunted by demons. This movie shows us things that really happen to people and why we shouldn’t mess with these types of things. Mika until about the middle of the movie takes these things as a joke and is just messing with it. He video tapes everything. Then eventually he realizes this thing doesn’t like him and he starts to take this seriously. Mika ends up dieing because he messed with it. If he hadn’t he wouldn’t have died and who knows what kinda shape Katie would be in.
Evalutation
This movie shows us two truths. One of them is respect the other one is friendship. This movie shows that we should have respect because If Mika had respect his life would have changed. He didn’t show it respect because he thought it was little and didn’t matter but we are shown that everything needs to be respected, even the littlest of people or things. The other truth it shows us is friendship. Mika has such great care for Katie that he tries to protect from a thing that hads much more power then him. He ends up giving his life to try to protect he he doesn’t succeed.
Reponse to Matt Robinson
October 22nd, 2009 by kylesmithMatt Robinson talked about the song fear by Drake. In this song Matt said that Drake was writing about how he didn’t change as an artist as his fame grew. Drake said that people have looked at him differently and said that he has changed but Drake thinks that it was the money and how the label has changed him. We have learned about how the record label control the artist and Drake says the line “They want the hits/ I play the game.” In which he is saying that he has to “play the game” and do what the label wants him to. But he also in fear says that “Don’t believe the lies/ Look me in my eyes” which I think that he is saying he really does mean some of the things he says and he isn’t just one of those artist that lets the label write the song for them. Drake has become a large part of the R n B music in 2009 and he is still staying the same as he was when he was working to get there. He wants people to know that he is still the same person and still has the same morals. That’s what he is saying in the song “fear”
Runaway love by Ludacris
October 16th, 2009 by kylesmithThe main plot or central idea of this song is to try to explain what is going on in some of the places in the United States that really need help. They are telling stories about little girls, and a lot of the problems that they have to go through as they live in the hood, or bad parts of cities. Some of the few problems they talk about is: alcohol, sex, drugs, murders, abusive parents, and more. The writer of this song says that these young ladies have to run away because that is the only way to get away from all of these horrible situations that they are going through.
The main idea is that things in this world are getting to hard for people, and especially the people that are ten or eleven or twelve. Some of society thinks that these problems are either brought on by the person they are being done to or they could get out of them and they don’t. But this song tells us how most people in these situations only have one way out and that is to runaway from them and not deal with them. If these people just ran away from there problems, they would be leaving there family, their kids, and their friends. I think that the love for these things in their lives out weigh problems they have going on in their every day life. But, society also tells us that running away from your problems is the wrong thing to do. So if these people listen to every that society says then they would never get the anywhere in life. the pain of these problems would be unimaginable unless you, your self were going through them, so it is not fair for society to believe that these problems are brought on by they people they are being done to.
The way that this song relate Christianity is that even through the hard times God will always be there for us regardless fo what we do or how we do it. The only way out for these people is to turn to God and he will provide for them and show them the way. As christians we need to get to as many people as we can and inform that everyone has a chance with God and that they are able to do it with him. “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” THis is what the Bible says about how Jesus, God, and the Lord wil always be with us.
