The T.V. show friends is all about these six frineds who all end up living next to each other and live out their lives in the vilage area of Mahattan. The Pilot is the first episode and basically introduces you to all the characters. It also gives you little pieces of their past to better understand why they say and do the things they do.
In this episode we are introduced to all the characters. Ross who just got divorced from his wife that turns into a Lesbian. Joey who is portryed as a no intelligence only has his great looks kind of actor. Also he’s intalian. Monica who is Ross’s little sister who has trouble finding good relationships, also is a chef at an area resturant. She also happens to be a big control freak. Than there is phoebe who is the wild crazy character that randomly blurts out things that make little to no sense. Her job is shes gives massages. Then we are introduced to Rachel who id daddy’s little girl who gets what ever she wants and never has to do things on her own. She has no job and is at the end forced to cut herself off by her new found friends. In this episode we are shown how close they all become. Also in this episode we also see all the different personalities that are in the characters. Proverbs 18:24 talks about a man who has friends must himself be friendly.
This episode shows many beliefs and values that are similar to what we believe. First it brings up the whole belief in the bible that words frame reality. When Ross says he wants to be married again and rachel walks through the door in a wedding dress. Yes it’s more for humor but it does show that concept. Not only does it show that concept thats in the bible but also in a way brings up the parable that Jesus told about a man who has friends must himself be friendly. We see this because not everyone knows rachel yet they all take her in and treat her like they’ve been friends forever. The phrase “leap of faith” is something that in christinanity we bring up a lot and in this episode that’s what is shown when rachel has to beleive that she’ll be fine when she cuts herself off. Just like sometimes we have to take a leap of faith in trusting our finances with God espicailly in these hard times.
